B is very hostile and recalcitrant — B’s father had left home and B’s mother had committed suicide, as we knew from “Bear Necessity”. D pushing towards reconciliation causes tension and friction between B&D, but in the emergency situation of D’s mum being hospitalized B eventually reveals that his main problem is dealing with his feelings towards his mother, who was unstable and largely to blame for the rift between father and son. That in the open, the reconciliation can be effected and all ends well. |
