Title: Traitor’s Fate
Category: HIS (HISTORICAL)
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): Inspired by The Scarlet Pimpernel book.1794.  D is the Pimpernel’s cousin and had been helping him until his lover Murphy died in a rescue attempt-he then went back to country life. Now, however, the Pimpernel needs him to rescue one of their French associates and has to send him back — forgetting to tell him that D is rescuing the *son* of the old duke active in D’s day. The rescue is successful, but D thinks he got the wrong prisoner and hides his true affiliation, posing as a money-hungry adventurer. The rescuee, (B), is in turn suspicious, as D might be the English traitor that sent him to prison and now trying to get more info. So they run, hiding from the guards, feeling unwell, having nightmares about the tragedies in their past, and torn between attraction and diffidence. They eventually make it, and the misunderstanding is resolved — they can now give in to their mutual attraction, love and strong sexual appetites.

Title: House of the Rising Sun
Category: AU
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): B is a former army captain dishonourably discharged for having been captured by bandits while his soldiers were massacred. His months of captivity were filled with tortures and sexual abuse, leaving him sick and impotent. B finds a job as a bouncer in the House of the Rising Sun, a brothel. There he meets wanton prostitute D, who likes sex and denies love.  B chases away an abusive client that D favoured (the client had promised D to reveal him who his father were — D, son of a prostitute, had grown up in the brothel) but is hurt in doing so. D takes care of B, but while B is in love with D, D is still struggling because his vision of people and sex does not include such feeling.  Besides, B is still impotent, to his shame.  At this delicate point,  a french aristocrat arrives at the House and starts wooing D with money and treats and promises to see Europe. D is fascinated and almost decides to go with the Comte — but in the end says no because he is waking up to B’s unselfish and intense love.  The Comte then kidnaps D and makes him into a sexual slave, torturing and demeaning him. To rescue him, B pretends he is a pal of the Comte and he buys D when D is auctioned (Comte grows bored of his toys/pet).  Finally together, B also cured of his impotence, D at last in love, all is well — D retires and together they become the owners and administrators of the House, living happily to an old age.

 What do you see?
 A Pros drabble
 by Jennifer Lyon

I thought I’d left it all behind. Traded the hot sands of Africa for cold concrete. I never wanted you so close to this. I never wanted you to see me as one of them. “You’re no better,” you told me, standing tall and proud on that hill. Looking down on us. Krivas and me. So much alike, and yet so different. I am different. I want to be.

What do you think of me, sunshine?
That I get off the excitement? Yes, I do.
That it’s just a paycheck. Yes, of course…
 But I care.
 Can you see that too?
