Bodie, please it’s been weeks, I’m getting desperate. |
Use your left hand |
I’m only ambidextrous with a gun. I can’t get a proper hold. |
What about whatshername? |
Oh wonderful. ‘We can’t make love ’til my arm’s better but could you take care of my problem in the meantime’. Very romantic that. |
But I’ve never done it for someone else, the angle’ll be all wrong. |
If we both face the same way and I wrap my legs round – it’ll be like doing it for yourself. |
……….. Oh all right |
Great! |
But next time, get someone else to cut your toe nails. |

Doyle is sitting on a low wall outside the lockup, wrapped in one of the tatty grey blankets. |
I shouldn’t have done it, should I? he says. |
Bodie, upright, hands in pockets, shakes his head. “No.” |
How is he? |
Towser’s taking him home. He’s stopped crying but he’s still shaking. |
Ah shit! And I can’t even apologise, can I? |
No. |
Dammit Bodie, he was asking for it. Goading me. ‘Find your opponent’s weak spot and go for it’, he said. So I did. |
Yeah but we were only training, Ray. Did you really have to |
go for his nerve?” |

Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): The ploy to get B a good Xmas, told from B’s point of view. In order to interrogate B about his xmases (poor but happy till 12, then mum remarried and hell broke loose), D has to tell about his – very bad childhood, unstable fighting family alternating between hugs and blows. B realizes D is plotting something and starts to have hopes for his secret love for D. On xmas day, they have the dinner, then D tells B about this man who molested him when he was a kid. After the pudding, B is too moved to stop himself, and asks D to bed. D agrees, but afterwards he thinks it’s just lust, and the friendship was just a ploy to get him (just like the man who molested him after being friendly). B says that he is in love and doesnt want to have D as a concession in exchange for friendship – they are not going to have sex until D wants it. The following morning, D behaves as if nothing had happened – and B muses that at least there is the friendship, and the hope for more – half a loaf, but of the best bread. |

Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): Some years have passed since “Substitute”. B&D go undercover as lovers in some university to find a serial killer of gays. They play a dom/sub game (B top). They liaise with another CI5 agent in deep cover, Bryant (who is the husband of B’s brother Lars, and a wiccan). Mai Li is D’s sister and she also works at the university. She had a fling with B, resulting in a daughter – but B is upset when he sees D and Mai Li together – nobody knows they are siblings so B thinks they are lovers and the child is D’s. B gets drunk and is taken home by his borther Lars. The day after D saves Lars from two skinheads. Lars is also working at the university. There is a missing part probably – next thing, D has quarrelled with B and kicked him out, (B was jealous and they fought) and has also slept with Lars as a one off. B is staying at his brother’s and he sleeps with Bryant. Meanwhile, the Murphy brothers try and infiltrate the skinheads, staging a fight with D. (Murphy’s brother was the lover of the woman now living with B’s other brother Harry). C orders B back with D since they have to keep their cover but they are still hostile – B is jealous and D is bitter and angry. Mai Li marries Bryant’s sister and D is a witness. The skinheads assault the women and kill them. Then D tells B she was his sister and the child is his. They make peace, with a BDSM session – now D tops B in retaliation for their fight. The hate group attack Lars and cut his fingers off then knife D. They barely survive and B and Bryant are in shock. D is assaulted again in the hospital and B is stabbed too. B’s whip wounds are discovered and C is angry because he thinks D batters B – also, they have been found out as CI5 agents and the tabloids fired a scandal. C wants to separate them when they get well. B hides the story from D. |

Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): Nick explains that vampires are really aliens. All seems well, but LaCroix is plotting revenge, together with D’s twin brother Stephen. What B did to Nick to “upgrade” him is forbidden, so LaCroix has an excuse to attack B. He injects B with a virus lethal to vampires and wont give him the vaccine unless B swears obedience. As LaCroix helped Radu to kill B’s family, B tries to refuse, but has to give in at last. LaCroix also kidnaps Natalie, who also gets the virus. Nick and D look for their lovers, helped by Brendon, B’s grandson, who is held slave by LaCroix. There is a fair bit of sex among all the characters, for one reason or another, and some issues left unresolved (for a sequel?) but in the end all ends well. |

Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): B&D are in Canada for a police exchange program, and work with NIck Knight to capture a werewolf. B is a vampire, and his brother Max (Dracula) is subbing as coroner for Natalie (who is in London for the exchange). The werewolf is at the service of B’s other brother Radu, the evil vampire who centuries ago had overthrown him. Radu wants B to join him, else he will kill D. Miklos, B’s former lover, is ostensibly with Radu but he is really secretly spying on him. B and Miklos broke up during WWII: B tried to help the Gipsies in Auschwitz while Miklos run away. B&D had a relationship but after Marikka B blamed D and broke up: B hypnotized D into forgetting, and now is thinking of moving on altogether (been with CI5 19 years and his not aging is becoming conspicuous). D’s father and D’s twin brother were vampires, and D has some secondary powers: this helps him realize everyone is a vampire, and he starts remembering about B. B sleeps with Nick to give him extra powers to fight LaCroix (and now Nick can be in the sunlight too). D’s memory is restored by Max, who also turns him into a vampire. Radu attacks them, but they eventually win. D is at first angry at B for having been made to forget, but they make peace, get together and decide to stay in Toronto. Title: Terms of Endearment |
Category: ROM (ROMANCE) |
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): D has gone into a depression, and C has to suspend him. D feels guilty that B has been hurt because of him, and also thinks that B hates him. D meets Jax, who encourages him to call B. D thinks back of how Jax knew him since the Met, where D discovered to be gay after an undercover op (he had to bust the man who initiated him, making him feel very guiltty). Entering CI5 stopped D’s gay sexual prowlings until he met B and fell in love. Trying to salvage the relationship, D goes to B to talk. It turns out that D risked both their lives because he was distracted from having caught B in bed with an old friend. B tells D it was just an unimportant goodbye fuck, because now he was involved with D — bad luck he surprised them. They make peace, declare mutual love and decide for fidelity, then have pizza and sex (not together!) |

Category: CASE |
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): An African conference in London brings back a nemesis from B’s past: general Adoula, who had raped and tortured B when he was his prisoner in Africa. CI5 is in charge of security, and B asks C not to work on it because he vowed to kill Adoula. C refuses it, thinking it best for B to overcome his past and for C himself to keep an eye on B should he give in to the temptation. D, on hearing the story, gets fiercely protective, and starts falling for B — however, progress in the relationship is hampered by them having to deal with the past. Eventually, not only B renounces his vengeance and overcomes the past traumas, but he even saves Adoula’s life when another former prisoner makes a deranged attempt at his life. Worries abated, B&D can now make love, work at forgetting the past and planning a future. |

Title: Calm after the Storm, The |
Category: H/C:p (HURT/COMFORT: PHYSICAL) |
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): B has unrequited love for D — he gets drunk in a disreputable bar and is gang-raped. Allowing only for minimal care he gets sick and collapses during a Macklin refresher. Delirious, he reveals to D his ambivalence over sex with men (after the Game in Africa and this rape) but love with D. D is surprised, because he had also fantasized about sex with B, and now realizes he loves him too. C approves and even encourages D to reciprocate, but warns him to be cautious since B is emotionally very hurt. D of course barges in, guitly and overprotective: besides, since B is not aware that he revealed his feelings to D, and misunderstands D’s attentions, they fight, then have a long talk and eventually all ends well. |
