Title: All You Need is Love |
Category: EMCON |
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): D realizes B is in love with him, and after lots of debating and attrition, he decides he loves B too and that they should progress to the physical stage. Despite D’s stubborn efforts, however, he still is straight and bearing the sex rather than enjoying it, however much he loves B. B tries his best, too, but (first ending) eventually the heartbreak and the insecurity are too much for him and he leaves D and CI5. Years later D has a successful career, wife, children and white picket fences — but his heart is still with B despite he doesnt know what happened to him, still mourning for what could not be. (In the second ending, B&D manage to communicate better, which was the other half of the problem; each more aware of the problems and shortcomings of the other, they decide that after all, love is all you need). |

Title: Blue Figurine |
Category: EMCON |
Plot summary (very short pieces are sometimes copied here in their entirety): D is mad at B because B screwed up an op since he was too worried for D. As he tries futilely to fix the op, D ends up in a strange cottage with a blue statuette, and he wishes B never got out of the jungle to join CI5. Magically, his wish is granted and reality now never included B in CI5. D is a solo agent, and an incredibly successful one, universally believed to be C’s dolphin. However, D realizes he is not better without B — he is just alone and un-human enough to compensate overachieving on the job. So he looks for B and, as he wished, B is still a merc, coming occasionally to London to recruit other mercs. On his next trip, B is accosted by D who now understands that he loves B and that he, D, was stupid to be angry at him because in the old reality B was in love with him too, and that is why he worried. D realizes he threw away his happiness and tries desperately to make B notice him. But the B of this new reality is a different, hardened man, who doesnt recognize D and jsut uses him for sex. After complying to B’s urges, and still being ignored, D lets slip that B was his best friend in another reality — B, spooked, throws him out and leaves. Bitterly, D gets back home, realizing he lost, and resolving to only care for work and become like C. BUT — despite all, B is struck by the intensity of D’s pleas, and in a moment of loneliness he wishes there was someone to love him and that he could love, someone like D — and magically, something starts to happen … |
